About us
Workshops on “Intercultural Communication and Intercultural Learning” have been held annually since 2003, first at the Vienna University of Economics and Business under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Renate Rathmayr and Prof. Dr. Edgar Hoffmann, and then at the Humboldt University of Berlin under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Astrid Ertelt-Vieth. These events, originally called “Vienna-Berlin Workshops”, were later expanded. The Institute for Slavic Studies at the TU Dresden (Prof. Dr. Holger Kuße) and the Institute for Intercultural Communication at the University of Hildesheim (Prof. Dr. Beatrix Kreß) have joined as institutional partners. Since the sudden death of the main organizer, Prof. Dr. Edgar Hoffmann (1957-2021) (WU Vienna), the conference will now be held at the University of St.Gallen (HSG) (PD Dr. Elena Denisova-Schmidt) in addition to Dresden and Hildesheim.
